About us – Nzlivebetting
Nzlivebetting is concerned with betting as it happens: markets that change during a match, bets placed on a phone and the rules that frame both in New Zealand. It takes no bets, sells no tips and promises no returns, since no bet is certain to win.
What the site does not do
There is no betting on the site, no account, no deposit and no paid forecast. Nothing here is advice, whether legal, financial or tax. Readers are expected to be adults, because betting with TAB NZ opens at 18.
Checking legal status
No register of licensed bookmakers exists in New Zealand, since there is just one lawful provider. TAB NZ alone has been allowed to offer racing and sports betting to people in New Zealand from 28 June 2025, through TAB and Betcha. The facts come from the Department of Internal Affairs and from the Racing Industry Act 2020 and the Racing Industry Amendment Act 2025. An overseas bookmaker has no New Zealand licence, and DIA says an overseas company offering these bets is breaking the law; the law is aimed at the operator, not the punter. Appearing in a ranking proves nothing about legality.
Working with sources
For a live-betting subject, the sources are the provider’s own terms, help pages and footers, together with statutes and the publications of public bodies. Odds, in-play markets and promotions change by the minute, so a figure is given only with the time and place where it applied. Where a source is missing, the point is described in words rather than filled with a number.
Help
