Cookie policy – Nzlivebetting
A site about live betting still needs very little technology of its own. This policy sets out the cookies and similar tools that run on Nzlivebetting, their purposes, and the ways to refuse or change them. Cookies are small text files kept by a browser; local and session storage entries and counting pixels act in a similar way.
Applicable law
Where cookies and similar tools collect personal information, the Privacy Act 2020 applies, through its information privacy principles (section 22). Collection must have a lawful purpose tied to running the site (IPP 1), and the person is told what is gathered and why (IPP 3). Reasonable security safeguards apply (IPP 5), information is held no longer than needed (IPP 9) and goes outside New Zealand only on the terms of IPP 12. A choice offered in the banner can be altered whenever wanted.
Files set without a choice
Some files are necessary for the site to operate dependably: keeping a session open, balancing load between servers, guarding forms from abuse and recording the banner choice itself. No separate choice is asked for these. Session files vanish when the browser closes, and the stored choice lasts at most twelve months.
Files set after consent
Functional files recall settings such as the table last opened. Analytics files count page views and show which pages are read, which helps the editors improve the content. Both kinds are set only after a choice is made in the banner. IP addresses are shortened for analysis, and no profile following behaviour across different sites is built.
Outside services
Embedded services such as videos or maps can set their own files, and the provider’s privacy rules then also apply; any objection is directed to that provider. No advertising cookie building profiles for personalised ads is set by Nzlivebetting without a clear choice in the banner.
Changing or withdrawing a choice
The "Cookie settings" link in the footer allows a choice to be changed or withdrawn at any time, and withdrawal works for the future. Browsers also allow cookies to be blocked and deleted in their privacy settings. Once the necessary files are deleted, the banner returns, and some features may be briefly unavailable.
Complaints
A complaint about the handling of personal information goes to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. How personal information is handled is described in the privacy policy of this site.
